The Executive & Coordinating Organ of AMSG

Led by the Secretary-General, the AMSG Secretariat serves as the central executive organ responsible for institutional coordination, strategic implementation, continental engagement and the execution of decisions adopted by AMSG Member States.

The Secretariat advances Africa’s minerals agenda through diplomacy, partnerships, policy coordination, strategic platforms, investment facilitation and institutional leadership across the continent.

Executive Leadership & Continental Coordination

The Office of the Secretary-General serves as the executive leadership and coordinating office of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG), providing strategic direction, institutional coordination and continental representation in advancing Africa’s collective minerals agenda.

His Excellency Moses Micheal Engadu from the Republic of Uganda is the current Secretary-General of AMSG and leads the operationalization of the Organization’s mandate through high-level diplomacy, strategic partnerships, ministerial engagement and institutional cooperation across Member States and global partners.

The Secretary-General works with the Deputy Secretary-General and Senior Executive Leadership to coordinate the implementation of strategic priorities, continental initiatives, governance processes and flagship platforms supporting Africa’s long-term mineral transformation, industrialization and resource sovereignty agenda. Through strategic engagement with Governments, development finance institutions, industry leaders and international organizations, the Secretariat advances Africa’s position within the evolving global critical minerals, energy and industrial landscape.
