Leadership at the Helm: Secretary General

The AMSG Secretariat is led by the Secretary General, who oversees the organization’s operations and ensures its alignment with AMSG’s mission and vision. In recognition of his leadership and experience, the founding member nations of AMSG appointed Mr. Moses Micheal Engadu from the Republic of Uganda as the founding Secretary General. This appointment, confirmed in Clause 9 of the AMSG Establishment Resolution, marks the beginning of a new chapter for AMSG as the Secretariat begins its journey of transforming Africa’s mineral sector.

Under the leadership of Mr. Engadu, the Secretariat is positioned to become a vital pillar in the development of Africa’s mineral resources, steering the organization through key initiatives that foster economic growth, sustainability, and prosperity for the continent.

About the AMSG Secretariat

It is also responsible for supporting AMSG’s strategic objectives, including local beneficiation, sustainable mining practices, technological innovation, and supporting the global energy transition, ensuring that these goals are efficiently achieved through its daily activities.
