15 January 2026 – Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
The Africa Minerals Strategy Group (AMSG) is honoured to announce the election of H.E. Moses Micheal Engadu of the Republic of Uganda as the First Substantive Secretary-General of the Organisation, following the First General Assembly held on 15 January 2026 in Riyadh.
H.E. Engadu previously served as Founding Secretary-General (2024-2026) during the interim phase, where he led the establishment of AMSG’s institutional frameworks, Charter processes, governance mechanisms, ratification strategy, and international partnerships across Africa, Europe, the Gulf, and global mineral platforms.
As Secretary-General – the Chief Executive Officer of the Organisation – H.E Engadu will continue guiding AMSG’s executive functions, strengthen coordination among Member States, implement continental standards and traceability systems, and advance Africa’s minerals agenda within global policy, investment, and regulatory ecosystems.
The election of H.E Moses Micheal Engadu as a Substantive Secretary-General marks a decisive step in consolidating AMSG as Africa’s premier intergovernmental institution for minerals governance, diplomacy and value-chain transformation.
