The confirmation marked the legal and constitutional completion of Nigeria’s accession to the Africa Minerals Strategy Group and its entry into the Constitutional Register of Member Nations as the Fourth Ratifying Member Nation. Pursuant to the Charter of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group, and following receipt of the duly executed Instrument of Ratification of the Charter from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Secretary-General officially confirmed that Nigeria had completed the requirements for ratification.

The confirmation followed the formal deposit of the Instrument of Ratification with the Secretary-General by the Honourable Minister of Solid Minerals of Nigeria H.E Dr. Oladele Henry Alake in a Ceremony held at the 5th African Natural Resources & Energy Investment Summit at State House Conference in Abuja.
