SECRETARIAT LEADERSHIP

THE OFFICE OF THE SECRETARY-GENERAL

Serving Africa Through Leadership, Diplomacy and Action

The Office of the Secretary-General is the executive coordination centre of the Africa Minerals Strategy Group. It supports the implementation of decisions of the General Assembly, Ministerial Steering Committee and Standing Committees while coordinating the Organization’s continental and international engagements.

Working closely with Member States, strategic partners, investors, development institutions and industry leaders, the Office advances AMSG’s mission of promoting responsible critical minerals development, value addition, industrialization and economic transformation across Africa.

Through diplomacy, institution building and global engagement, the Secretary-General works with Member States and partners to position Africa as a leader in the minerals economy of the future.

The Africa Minerals Strategy Group was established to help ensure that Africa’s mineral wealth becomes a catalyst for industrialization, prosperity, innovation and sustainable development.
