AIMCEPS OVERVIEW
Building Africa’s Digital Mining Governance Infrastructure
The African Integrated Mining Compliance and Environmental Protection System (AIMCEPS) is a continental digital governance platform designed to modernize, formalize and regulate mining activity across Africa.
The system responds to urgent challenges facing African governments, including illegal mining, unregulated equipment movement, environmental degradation, river pollution, concession violations, tax leakage and weak real-time enforcement.
By integrating equipment tracking, automated geofencing, AI-powered drone surveillance and centralized command-and-control centres, AIMCEPS enables governments to monitor mining activity, enforce concession boundaries, protect ecosystems and strengthen ESG compliance.
Developed in partnership with Smart Innovations Ghana, and building on a successful pilot with the Minerals Commission of Ghana, AIMCEPS provides a scalable model for responsible mining governance across AMSG Member States.
